Children from as young as 5 are now asking their parents to play games online. But, when is a suitable age for children to begin this addictive hobby?
Parents across the United Kingdom and the world understand the dangers of online gaming. Once your child is in the world, there is very little you can do to keep them safe. Even if you turn off chat features and talking features, the dangers are still around. This is why we recommend that children wait until they are at least 10 years old, if not 13 and above before they participate in online gaming.
Before any child begins online gaming, you need to have a talk with them. Talk to them about the dangers of online gaming. How they shouldn’t speak to people and share information with people they don’t know. Simply, your child needs to be at an age where they understand the dangers and follows your wishes to keep them safe. Until this time, we do not recommend online gaming for any child and you should seek alternative ways for them to play games with friends.
