Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational to be ported to PS3

PS3 version of Vita golf game to feature cross play option, Move support, and two new modes.

Virtual golf nuts will soon be able to play the PS3 version of Vita golf title Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational.

According to Japanese magazine Famitsu, the PS3 version will be called “Minna no Golf 6” (or Hot Shots Golf 6). This version will feature PlayStation Move motion controller support as well as have cross play support with the Vita version. The DLC that was previously available for the Vita version will be available for free on the PS3 version.

In addition, the game will have two new modes: slot mode and “minna no short course” mode. The former allows players to spin a slot to gain field bonuses depending on what combination they get during a match. The latter is possibly the franchise’s take on mini golf, where each course will be smaller than usual.

The Japanese version of the game will be out on November 22. A release date for the North American or European version has yet to be announced. For more information, check out GameSpot’s review of the Vita title.

Now Playing: Diablo III 1.0.4 Patch

Diablo III? Cant even remember how it was to play:-)

Seriously. Diablo 3 looks nice, was interesting to play through on normal and nightmare. After that, it was not very interesting anymore.

It has no longevity, and Blizzard went ahead and wanted to create a cash cow, but was so over confident in their abilities, blinded by it, that they have, for 5 years, 10 years!! been working on a game that honestly, if it was worth 20 bucks I would say its a great deal.

Its a ripoff and they should be ashamed of their product.

Last but not least: Implementing an auction house utterly ruined the game on a larger scale.

Im sad to say that whatever changes they make, its too late. Majority of players already left the game, what remains is a few hardcore players that loves it. They could have had 10 or 100 times the numbers kept on playing had they had a good product from get go, and not had an implemented auction house.

Such a shame on such a good franchise, but blizzard truly messed this title up big time.

Mechromancers & Mayhem: Interview with Randy Pitchford

endorbr The only game in recent memory that I’ve put over 300 hours in would be ARMA 2 ACE & DayZ. Now that game and it’s mods have MASSIVE replay value.

Skyrim netted me just under 200 hours.

I’m not sure what to think about the replay value of this game, I bought it already but I’m a bit doubtful that it will even hold a candle to ARMA for me.

Sony closes Wipeout studio

Sony Liverpool, the company responsible for creating the Wipeout franchise, has been closed. An update on the firm’s Facebook page today confirmed the closure after nearly 30 years of operation, effective immediately. It is not clear how many staffers were affected, but Eurogamer reports that Sony will attempt to relocate those impacted to other studios.

In a statement provided to the site, Sony explained that it decided to shut down Sony Liverpool after a regular review found that changes needed to be made to remain viable in an “increasingly competitive marketplace.”

“It has been decided that Liverpool Studio should be closed,” reads a line from the statement. “Liverpool Studio has been an important part of SCE Worldwide Studios since the outset of PlayStation, and have contributed greatly to PlayStation over the years. Everyone connected with Liverpool Studio, past and present, can be very proud of their achievements. However, it was felt that by focusing our investment plans on other Studios that are currently working on exciting new projects, we would be in a stronger position to offer the best possible content for our consumers.”

The studio was established in 1984 as Psygnosis, before being picked up by Sony in 1993 and re-branded. The firm developed launch titles for every PlayStation format ever released. Most recently, Sony Liverpool developed the warmly received PlayStation Vita game Wipeout 2048.

In addition, Sony Liverpool is home to Sony’s European quality assurance outfit. This division was not affected by the closure of the Wipeout studio.

Eurogamer reports that the firm was at work on multiple titles for the PlayStation 4, including a new Wipeout entry and a Splinter Cell-style action game. The new Wipeout title reportedly had been in development for 12-18 months, and was to be “dramatically different.”

As for the Splinter Cell-style project, this game supposedly began its life as a gangster-style title before morphing into something resembling the popular Ubisoft franchise. It also reportedly used motion capture technology similar to that used by Team Bondi for L.A. Noire.
