Southeast Asia to get region-exclusive Tekken Tag Tournament 2 collection

Early bird Tekken fans are in for a treat as Namco Bandai has announced that it will be taking preorders for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 in Southeast Asia.

Gamers who order early will get the TTT2 Asia prestige edition when the game comes out on September 11 for Xbox 360 and PS3. All copies of this version will contain a 256-page art book, two soundtrack CDs containing the original tracks and remixes, a “Making of TTT2” DVD, and a Tekken wall-sticker signed by producer Katsuhiro Harada.

As a side note, all Southeast Asian fans who preorder the game early (standard or Asian prestige version) will get in-game DLC. These include four playable characters (Angel, Julia Chang, Ancient Ogre, Kunimitsu), a “Snoop Dogg”-themed battle arena, over 150 in-game costumes for each playable character, and an interlocking code so that players can link their TTT2 arcade and console progress together.

The price of this version has yet to be announced. For more information on TTT2, check out GameSpot’s previous coverage.

Dark Souls OLD Demo doesn’t work please disregard.

WolfGrey Steam or not, you will need to install Games For Windows Live, create an account, and all the problems that comes with it. I installed it fine when trying to play Gears of War 1 when the game came out for PC, but had so many problems with Fallout 3. It wanted to update, but failed at the end, it was a mess, something about the update not available in my language or something, but I’ve managed. Had no problems with it while playing Fable 3 and Batman, though.

I don’t really give a shit if the game needs Origin, Steam, GFWL, as long as when I start the game, It plays. And, unlucky for me, GFWL gave me trouble one day.

Big in Japan July 30-August 5: Dragon Quest X

Gamers familiar with game sales in Japan should be well aware of the high sales track record of the Dragon Quest series. The trend has continued with the release of Dragon Quest X for the Wii last week.

The RPG debuted in the top spot of the Media Creates sales chart for the week of July 30 to August 5 with 367,148 units sold. The sequel features five continents for players to explore and six playable races (human, ogre, elf, dwarf, puklipo, weddie) for players to experiment with. This game marks the first time the series has adopted the mass multiplayer online RPG genre, as players have to pay a set subscription fee after the initial 20 days of free online play.

Other debuts include All Kamen Rider: Rider Generation 2 for the DS and the PSP. The DS version was at eighth place with 20,459 units sold, while the PSP version was at 14th place with 12,928 units sold. Both versions of the 2D side-scrolling action title are identical; players get to pick among a stable of past and present Kamen Rider superheroes to fight off enemies from past Kamen Rider episodes and universes.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 was at second place in the top 10 with 213,547 units sold. The game was recently praised for its controls and layers of secrets within its design, but was panned for its frustrating co-op and nostalgic retreads for its levels. For more information, check out GameSpot’s review.

Atlus’ and Arc System Works’ recent fighting game stood strong amidst the new releases. The PS3 version of Persona 4 Arena was at seventh place with 20,477 units sold. The game was recently praised for its fighting mechanics and visuals, but was criticized for its dry narrative presentation. Check out GameSpot’s review for more information.

In terms of hardware sales, the Wii received a considerable spike in sales due to the release of Dragon Quest X. Sales for the system went up to 41,415 units. Otherwise, the 3DS still had the lead; the XL version was at 82,251 units while the regular version was at 42,164, which added up to 124,415 in total.

Sony struggling to attract third-party support for Vita – Report

Sony has reportedly admitted that it is having a hard time attracting third-party developers to make games for its PlayStation Vita console.

In an interview with PlayStation: The Official Magazine (as spotted by blog The Silent Chief), Sony Computer Entertainment worldwide studio president Shuhei Yoshida is reported as saying:

“We’re having a more difficult time than we had anticipated in terms of getting support from third-party publishers, but that’s our job.”

Yoshida then went on to say that the publisher will continue to try to recruit third-party developers, and pointed to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation as a game that could entice other developers to see the benefit of working with the Vita.

“We will continue to talk to development communities and publishing partners, and tell them why Vita can provide a great experience for the IPs they have, and I hope the Assassin’s Creed game will prove that,” Yoshida reportedly told the magazine.

Sony was under pressure to drop the price of the Vita upon its North American launch earlier this year, with the system reaching 1.2 million units sold globally by February 26, 2012.

Earlier this year, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto weighed in on the Vita’s problems, saying that the system’s software is not matching the abilities of its hardware.

In July, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said he is eager to get Borderlands 2 on the Vita.
