After announcing earlier in the week that they will be handing out 10% PSN codes, Japanese giants Sony have finally released full info on the one-time discount code.
Published on the PlayStation blog, the discount codes have been handed out as a way of apologising for the outage the PlayStation Network suffered during the Christmas period.
Although it’s a nice gesture, there are limitations to Sony’s goodwill. For example, you won’t be able to use the discount code on pre-orders. You also won’t be able to use the code on PS Plus subscriptions, Music Unlimited and video rentals. So it’s borderline pointless? You can’t really offer a good will gesture with a restriction. Seems more like a sales tactic, rather than an apology. Try again Sony!
